The Gift of Surrender

Today I celebrate my freedom. I accept what is and surrender every worry, every desire, and every outcome to the Divine.

Beloveds, we come to you today because you have come to us. In communion we join to celebrate with you. This is a day for some in the world to contemplate and celebrate freedom. Freedom is a value human beings hold dear. That is goodness indeed. And yet we ask you, what does it mean to live freely?

Contemplate this question Dear Ones at a "metaphysical" level. Ahhh... beyond and bigger than your human existence. What is freedom for you, oh beautiful soul?

You were born into human form imbued with your precious human attributes and gifts. But you well know that you are much more than this—you are beyond the body and form. We come to speak with you about the gift of freedom for you as the creation of the One. As a Child of the Divine, you know that spiritual freedom informs your notion and experience of human freedom. You came to live into this—into full spiritual freedom.

Let us begin by addressing a concept that arose within the context of surrender. It was asked whether the surrender of the One is a form of acceptance? Is Source accepting all humans regardless of their stage of awakening or the deeds they committed? We would respond there is an important distinction between acceptance and surrender. Source does not accept. Source surrenders. Source bestows grace in the surrender.

The question makes us ask if you think that acceptance and allowance are synonymous with surrender? We offer that they are not. Think of them as distinct steps along the path, a path that leads to The Way. The Way offers you freedom. Ahhh... let us go deeper.

You see, Beloveds, acceptance is a beautiful and necessary step. Acceptance is being present to the here and now. Acceptance is practiced by being in the moment, in the reality of this moment. Acceptance is a construct of the mind. It is an important construct. It is a necessary construct. It is necessary and important because you are both human and divine. And acceptance is practiced in the human mind.

Acceptance is a powerful step forward towards your release from suffering. When you accept you are seeing the truth of the moment, the circumstance, "This is what is." Acceptance requires that you move into a state where you see, acknowledge, and feel the reality of the moment—the circumstance. Surrender is when you stop fighting.

In acceptance you see, feel, and process what is your current reality. You see it without judgment and allow it to move in, around, and through you. All of this is done without resistance. You hold it gently. You do not grip it tightly. You see it. You feel it. You accept it. You make peace with it. It is. And so, it is. Perhaps you may even be able to bless it. Perhaps. You simply stop the struggle. You let it be. Amen.

Acceptance moves you back into peace. It moves you back into balance. You are not expending energy gripping to the past or fretting over the future. You move into presence. I am here. And here, right here, right now, this is reality. So be it. I accept it. Amen.

Acceptance offers the gift of clarity and neutralizes suffering, because suffering is held in the mind. With acceptance you are reorienting your focus. You accept what is. You accept it with humility and grace. You accept what is without judgment, bitterness, anger, or regret. Acceptance is a human practice that calms your mind, your nervous system, the whole of you. You can exhale when you accept the reality as it is.

Acceptance can also be viewed as a spiritual step that engages your body-mind, your emotions, and your heart. It is an important and blessed step. Practice acceptance. Practice radical acceptance. It is a required step along the path.

But know that with acceptance you are not yet fully free. There is more. There is soul work. There is the gift of transformation awaiting.

Once you accept a situation, a circumstance, you can move deeper. You let go of the desire for certain outcomes. You let go of your attachments. You release the grip that ego demands of you.

“Surrender is the gateway to freedom. Freedom marks the beginning of The Way.”

First, you must see, really see, the situation as it is. Then you must accept it. Accept it with an open heart and open hand. No judgement. No reservation. Pure acceptance. Now, are you ready for the next step? You turn the situation, the circumstance, the desired outcome, over to a higher power—to Divine Intelligence. To the Universe. To The One. To Source. You must surrender. Let go. Fully.

Letting go of all of this is the moment you move into sweet surrender. Surrender is the next step, the big step. The deeper step. Surrender is the step that moves you consciously into soul work.

When you surrender you activate and call in your Higher Self. You let go and hand over the reins to the Divine to work with and for you.

In a state of surrender, you know that you are fully supported and you willingly allow yourself to be guided. You move beyond the situation or circumstances. You move beyond acceptance and now fully trust that there is Divine Grace flowing. You surrender into trusting the process.

It is here you let go of the small I. Here you allow your soul, the indwelling Spirit that is connected to Divine Intelligence, connected to the Web of Light, and flowing in the Sea of Love, to be in control. Now you are guided by Source.

Surrender is when you open yourself to the flow of infinite possibilities and pure potential. This is when you, Dear One, give up the need to control. It is in the surrender you are transformed and imbued with your true power. You step into your power. You are a Divine Being of Light made fully manifest in the power of I Am. You surrender into this. This is soul alchemy. This is transmutation.

Surrender is the gateway to freedom. Freedom marks the beginning of The Way. You can only travel The Way in freedom. Surrender offers you the gift of freedom. You no longer need to strive. To do. To feel shackled by the need to fix. You are no longer in control. Outcomes are secondary. Even unimportant. In surrendering fully to the Divine in and around you, you know, you truly know, all is well. You know that every little thing is going to be alright. Ahhh...

Surrender dissolves the tight grip of the ego. You can relax. You can breathe. This is freedom. There is no need to worry. A weight is lifted. The illusion is unmasked. Feel into that. Really feel that.

Allow stress and anxiety to melt away. Your notion of being in control is a fluffy and nonsensical illusion. Let it dissolve. It is unreal. It does not hold you. You are now tasting freedom. Ahhh...

But wait! There is another gift. Surrender releases you from the past. The past is exactly that—past. It is gone. Make peace with this truth. Forgive yourself. Forgive the other. What happened in the past dissolved ages ago. Release your illusory grip on the dust of yesterday. Feel the freedom of the release. You don't live in the past. You are here in this precious moment. Be free of the past and the dusty stories. Surrender to the precious Now. You live in the now. It is right here and right now that you are free. Be at peace.

Surrendering the illusion of your small self being the captain of your boat frees you from sailing against the current. Sailing against the current is what your small self does thinking it knows best. Surrendering allows you to let go of the control and lets you enjoy the journey.

In the surrender you flow and become one with the current. This is freedom. No longer needing to cling to the paddles, the ropes, the baggage, or whatever destination your ego mind thinks is right. You are now unburdened, supple, and open. And in the opening, you are free. Free to sail and fully open so you can now fully receive.

This is the freedom we celebrate with you today and every day. Dear Ones practice radical acceptance and offer yourself the gift of surrender. True freedom awaits you. We who abide in the Light assure you a most radiant and dazzling light show like no other on the other side of surrender.

We wish you a day of joy. A day of celebration. A day of awakening. See with the eyes of the soul. Let your mind and heart harmonize to accept what is. Make peace with what was and what is. Surrender to your beautiful and brilliant soul who will guide you to peace and freedom. It is in the sweet surrender you affirm what is always true. All is well. And so, it is. With gratitude claim your birthright of freedom. Amen.
