Privacy Policy

We keep almost nothing. This page explains exactly what we do keep, why, and how to ask us to let it go.

What we collect

If you join our list, we collect the first name and email address you give us. That is the only personal information we ask for anywhere on this site.

Like any website, our hosting provider records ordinary technical information when a page is served — an IP address, a browser type, a timestamp. We do not use it to build a profile of you.

We do not run advertising, we do not use tracking pixels, and we do not sell or share personal information with anyone for money or for cross-context advertising. With your consent we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read — see Cookies and storage below.

How we use it

Your name and email are used for one purpose: to let you know about gatherings, exhibitions, and new transmissions. Nothing else, ever.

Every message we send includes a way to leave the list. Leaving takes effect immediately.

Cookies and storage

What we store in your browser without asking is limited to what the site needs to work: a small record of your choice on the privacy banner, so we do not ask you again, and — only if you use the join form — the session storage our backend needs to accept your submission securely.

If you accept on the banner, we also load Google Analytics. It sets cookies that let us see, in aggregate, which pages people read, roughly where in the world they are, and what kind of device they used. We do not use it for advertising, and we have asked Google to shorten visitor IP addresses.

If you decline, Google Analytics never loads and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using the Privacy choices link in the footer — declining afterwards switches tracking off and clears those cookies.

Your choices

Wherever you live, you may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will do it — usually the same week.

If you are in the EU or UK: we rely on your consent to email you, and you may withdraw that consent at any time. You also have the right to receive a copy of your data and to complain to your local data protection authority.

If you are in California or another US state with a privacy law: you have the right to know, delete, and correct the personal information we hold, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you may still ask us to delete what we have.

How long we keep it

We keep your name and email until you ask us to remove them, or until the list is no longer being used. Technical server logs are kept only briefly by our hosting provider.

Who else touches it

We use a small number of service providers to run this site: a hosting provider that serves these pages, a managed database that stores the join list, a content management service we use to edit this site's words and images, and — only with your consent — Google Analytics for aggregate visit statistics. They process this information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

If we ever move the mailing list to an email service, we will name it here before we do.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will bring the privacy banner back so you can make a fresh choice.
